Supervision and Consultation
If you are in need of clinical consultation, we can provide services in-person, via video, or telephone. Consultation sessions vary based on the complexity and needs of each case.
Awareness and Wellness Center (AWC) offers LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) supervision for master’s level clinicians seeking licensure in Pennsylvania. We can also offer LSW (Licensed Social Worker) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) supervision. Our team provides a limited number of supervision sessions towards the requirements for licensure, and we currently have availability for new supervisees.
If you are interested in consultation or supervision, please reach out so we can find the right fit and discuss fees.

FAQs
Q: What is required to become an AASECT-certified sex therapist?
AASECT requires at least 90 hours of sex therapy-specific training, which covers various domains, such as:
- Sexual health and function
- Ethics and best practices in sex therapy
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion in sexual issues
The training can be completed through approved workshops, courses, or programs offered by AASECT-certified providers.

Q: How long does supervision take?
If you are already licensed and actively working as a therapist, the AASECT certification process itself typically takes 2-4 years, depending on how quickly you complete the training, clinical experience, and supervision.
Q: Do I need prior experience in sex therapy to start supervision?
You must already be a licensed mental health professional (e.g., LPC, LCSW, psychologist, etc.) or a certified member of a national psychotherapy organization. The time for this step depends on your chosen career path (usually 4-8 years, including undergraduate and graduate degrees).
