Welcome! I’m Shauna Leigh Shepherd, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley. My professional background includes community mental health, hospital settings, private practice, and clinical supervision.
My therapeutic approach integrates transpersonal psychology, Indigenous psychology, somatic and body-based practices, expressive arts, and trauma-informed psychotherapy. I believe healing extends beyond traditional talk therapy and involves reconnecting with our bodies, emotions, creativity, relationships, and the natural world.
Drawing from training in EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, and contemplative practices, I offer an integrative approach that honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, culture, and community. My work is relational, culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and neurodiversity affirming.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship challenges, communication difficulties, attachment patterns, and life transitions. My approach emphasizes understanding the deeper emotional and relational dynamics that shape how we connect with one another. Drawing from relational, somatic, and transpersonal psychology, I support clients in moving beyond patterns of fear, conflict, and disconnection toward greater compassion, authenticity, and mutual understanding. I believe relationships can be powerful spaces for healing and transformation, where we learn to honor both our individual needs and our capacity for meaningful connection.
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey toward greater self-awareness, healing, and meaningful connection. My hope is to create a compassionate space where you feel supported in discovering your own path toward wholeness.
