Hi and welcome to Awareness and Wellness Center (AWC)! My name is Katy Jane. I recognize how scary pursuing change can be and with someone you have never met. This being said, I hope you are aware of what you already overcame by pursuing this journey. 

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with 17 years of experience, I have worked in families homes and outpatient clinics. My passion started working with children and their families then expanded to working with individuals of all ages. These experiences included working with clients with a variety of mental health symptoms; anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, ADHD, ASD, relationship challenges and life changes. 

What does therapy with me look like? I believe the need to first build a therapeutic relationship with comfort and trust. We will explore what you hope to achieve in therapy, reflect, develop more insight and learn tools to help cope with challenges. I use a variety of different modalities; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person Centered Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I first became a certified PCIT therapist then Level 1 PCIT trainer.
