Welcome!

Hello! My name is AJ Dunn and I am a clinician here at Awareness and Wellness Center. My favorite quote is from a song that I love which shares “You are the light, it’s not on you, it’s in you.” Do you feel like you’ve lost your light? Well I’m glad you’re here. Let’s work together to get your spark back! My approach to therapy is based off teamwork and collaboration. I primarily pull from person-centered, interpersonal, and existential therapy. These theories guide me in how to best support the individuals I work with.

My professional history includes working with diverse individuals presenting different concerns. These concerns include, but are not limited to, drug and alcohol addiction, spiritual matters/issues (pick one, don’t use concerns twice), identity formation, and overall emotional regulation skills.

If you find yourself struggling, I would love to work with you and empower you. While working, we will create treatment goals that best serve you and build you back up. My goal is to work alongside you, creating a safe and inclusive setting to spark positive change and well-being.

Educational and Vocational Background

I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University in 2024, where I studied different theories and techniques that I utilize today.

I am currently a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor working individually but also under supervision from a Licensed Counselor.

My professional history includes working with individuals in recovery, teens, college students, young adults, and more. I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals focusing on self-discovery, empowerment, and identity exploration. I also work with individuals struggling with religious trauma or spiritual concerns.
