Pre-Licensed Psychotherapist

Pronouns: She/They

My practice is grounded in humanistic, strength-based, multicultural, and feminist principles. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and my role is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space in which we work collaboratively to address their concerns. Respecting autonomy and empowering clients to make their own meaning are commitments I hold throughout my work.

I attend closely to the contexts my clients live in. Culture, family expectations and dynamics, gender, sexuality, migration history, and systemic pressure shape what a person is able to say and what they believe they are allowed to want. Naming those forces often loosens the sense that a struggle is a personal failing. From there, clients tend to find their own footing.

I work with individuals and romantic partners on relationship and intimacy concerns, sexual well-being, identity exploration, and trauma. I have training and supervised experience in sex therapy and relationship counseling, including a Gottman Method Level 1 certificate. I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients and clients in consensually non-monogamous relationships. I also conduct ADHD assessments and provide written evaluations. Trained as a generalist, I have extensive experience with depression, anxiety, life transitions, academic and career stress, and other common concerns.

I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington, with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Michigan Counseling and Psychological Services. My research has focused on sexual violence prevention as well as how sociocultural factors shape sexual experiences of East Asian American women. I have also taught undergraduate courses and supervised doctoral trainees in my graduate school experience.

I am a native Mandarin speaker and offer counseling in both Mandarin and English.
