Hi, and welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or sensing that something needs to change, you’re not alone. You might be navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, questions about identity, or you may be looking for a deeper sense of clarity, peace, or meaning. I believe growth is possible even in the most uncertain seasons of life, and I am dedicated to supporting people in counseling as they work through challenges and find paths forward.
My approach to therapy is warm, grounded, and person-centered. I draw from a blend of methods including humanistic, narrative and interpersonal therapies, mindfulness and somatic awareness, and other evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT, depending on what is helpful for you. I hope to help you reconnect with parts of yourself that might have been overlooked or forgotten. Our sessions might include developing strategies to acknowledge and cope with intense emotions, processing past experiences, or finding ways to breathe a little easier in the present moment.
I believe in your capacity to heal and grow, and that you’re already enough as you are. If you’re considering taking the next step in therapy, I’d be honored to be a part of that.
Background
I earned an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. I have experience providing individual counseling services to adolescents and adults with a wide range of clinical mental health concerns, under the supervision of licensed professional counselors. I also have several years of experience working in inpatient psychiatric care, where I worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and clinical concerns, but most of my experience was with clients with disordered eating patterns.
Specialties
Anxiety disorders – I work with clients to understand the roots of their anxiety, and together, develop strategies to reduce worrying and intrusive thoughts—I hope to help clients find more ease in day-to-day life.
LGBTQIA+ – I am committed to providing affirming and supportive mental health care to LGBTQIA+ clients, where they can safely explore identity, relationships, and the joys and challenges of their lived experience.
Self-esteem – The idea of self-compassion is integral in my approach to counseling, and I enjoy working with clients to identify their ever-changing values, strengths, and sense of worth as they learn to understand and challenge internal self-criticisms.
Interpersonal challenges – I work with clients to navigate conflict, communication issues, or patterns in relationships. Relating authentically to others is an ongoing learning experience, but an often fruitful one that creates worthwhile connections.
Emotion regulation – I explore with clients their experience of intense emotions to better understand their roots and how to respond effectively when emotions feel overwhelming.
Transitions and stress management – Change and uncertainty can range from slightly uncomfortable to incredibly disorienting and stressful. I provide support to clients going through transitions and the stress of uncertain times.
