Awareness

Through awareness, we are cognizant, informed, and alert. We gain the ability to perceive, feel, or become conscious of events, objects, or sensory patterns.

Fritz Perls (Gestalt Therapy) stated quite powerfully that “awareness is like the glow of a coal, which come from its own combustion; what is given by introspection is like the light reflected from an object when a flashlight is turned on it.”

At the Awareness & Wellness Center (AWC), our therapists build on this inherent human development and guide you toward a more profound understanding of the events that shape your own life. Simply put, we help you get in touch with yourself and shed new light on your experiences. As we become more self-aware, we can better cope with our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about ourselves and our relationships.

Our team believes wellness should also encompass mental, spiritual, emotional, social, sexual, and intellectual functioning. So each therapist strives to integrate these strengths when addressing the well-being of our clients.
